NATIONAL CYCLING RACE FOR THE CHRZĄSTOWICE DISTRICT MAYOR'S CUP

The Chrząstowice District is the organizer of the National Cycling Race for the Chrząstowice District Mayor's Cup. Every April, over 300 cyclists from Poland gather for the race.

The race aims to popularize cycling in the Chrząstowice Commune and the Opolskie Voivodship, promoting the district and the voivodship.

The race is organized in several categories: elite, junior, younger junior and youth. The event features a race for preschoolers and the very popular VIP race, which generates strong excitement.

The Chrząstowice District has been a cycling-friendly community for years. Thanks to its close cooperation with the LKS "Ziemia Opolska" it co-organizes such sporting events as the National Cyclocross Race in Falmirowice, the National Cycling Race "For the Chrząstowice District Mayor's Cup" and the Polish Cup for Younger and Junior Cyclists – Joachim Halupczok Memorial in Niwki. These events are extremely popular among cyclists from all over Poland. Cyclists from the Czech Republic and Lithuania often attend. Chrząstowice is the only municipality in Poland to have produced three Olympic medalists in cycling: Benedykt Kocot, Edward Barcik and the late 1989 World Cycling Champion Joachim Halupczok.
