SAINT ANNE'S LAND – THE PERFECT PLACE FOR YOUR RELAXATION
There are few places in Poland where natural and cultural values intertwine, creating a enchanting beautiful and unique landscape. The Land of St. Anne is certainly one such place. In 2011, the product "The St. Anne's Land - perfect place for your vacation", submitted by the Association of the Land of St. Anne, received the Certificate of the Opole Regional Tourist Organization for the Best Tourist Product 2011 in the area category.
The area is characterized by a highly diverse geographic environment, encompassing both upland and lowland areas. Its cultural richness is enhanced by unique monuments of sacred and industrial architecture, palace and park complexes, and the Pearl of Opole Silesia: the Calvary and Monastery complex at St. Anne's Mountain, designated a Historic Monument in 2004.
The German minority has a significant influence on cultural activities here, also operating through its village clubs. The population has a sense of cultural community, sharing many common Silesian traditions, such as the local dialect, the bear lead, the making of harvest crowns and Easter kroszonki as well as the Silesian culinary traditions. In everyday life, a tolerant and open community has emerged, united by a shared destiny.
The central part of St. Anne's Land is the St. Anne's Mountain Landscape Park and Geopark, home to many valuable natural habitats and animal and plant species protected by the European Natura 2000 Network. The network's mission
is to protect selected natural elements – the most valuable and rarest in Europe.
Of the three habitat areas reported to the European Commission in the Opolskie Voivodship, two are located in the Land of St. Anne: St. Anne's Mountain and Kamień Śląski. The designating a habitat site is not only a significant European promotion but also a basis for applying for additional national and EU funding. The natural areas of our Land are a unique attraction for tourists seeking natural beauty and a healthy environment.
