ZOOLOGICAL GARDEN IN OPOLE
Located on Bolko Island in Opole, the Zoo is a major attraction for the entire region. Established in the 1930s, the Zoo has been reborn twice in its long history: after World War II and after the 1997 flood
. Currently, the zoogeographical landscapes of the Opole Zoo are home to animals from various continents.
The Opole Zoo boasts a beautiful giraffe house, a gorilla enclosure, a pool with the only Californian sea lions in Poland, a lemur island, an amphibian pavilion and the Biodiversity Land, an exotic greenhouse with a bird aviary. A major attraction for visitors is feeding the animals, including gorillas, sea lions and pelicans. Children can enjoy playgrounds, a mini rope park and a mini zoo. Strollers are available for rent at the zoo entrance.
The Opole Zoo is a place where you can spend hours observing animal behavior. In addition, the lush natural surroundings offer picnic areas and food courts, as well as the Jungle Cafe and the Pod Dębami Inn, where you can enjoy a delicious meal.
The zoo is constantly expanding, recently welcoming Atos and Portos, the Angolan lions and currently undergoing the largest investment in the history of the Opole Zoo: the construction of a massive aquarium complex with a coral reef and numerous marine animals, such as sharks and rays.
