V. PRIESSNITZ SPA PARK AND GRADUATION TOWER IN GŁUCHOŁAZY

The park was established at the foot of Parkowa Mountain in the late 19th century, when Głuchołazy was granted health resort status. It was revitalized in the 1930s, following the construction of the so-called alpine garden, modeled after the Aztec pyramids of Mexico. After its revitalization in the 21st century, it has become a major attraction in the city. Beautiful paths, bridges, trees and lush greenery invite you to stroll. Hydrotherapy is also available here, as the park features special facilities for water treatments, including pools for soaking lower limbs and basins for soaking hands, located on the spa stream. The park's newest attraction is the first brine graduation tower in the Opole region, opened in 2018. One of the two highest graduation towers in Europe, it also serves as an observation tower.

Vincenz Priessnitz, whose name is given to the Spa Park, was known worldwide as the "water doctor." He is considered a pioneer of hydrotherapy. He spent his entire life in nearby Jeseník, which remains a popular Czech spa resort to this day. Interestingly, Priessnitz invented the shower and it is from his surname that the Polish name for this device comes.
