OPAWSKIE MOUNTAINS LANDSCAPE PARK - BISKUPIA KOPA

The Opawskie Mountains Landscape Park covers an area of ​​4,903 hectares, with a buffer zone of

5.033 ha. It is one of the most beautiful recreational areas in the Opole region. It encompasses the northern slopes and foothills of the Opawskie Mountains, on the border with the Czech Republic. Its greatest asset is its dense forest complexes, which constitute 75% of its area. The most valuable of these are protected reserves: "Olszak" in the Olszak massif, "Las Bukowy" on Góra Parkowa and "Cicha Dolina" in the Bystry Potok valley. The park also includes the "Nad Białką" geological and landscape reserve, established to preserve the remains of gold-bearing gravel and sand mining operations. The natural assets are complemented by numerous cultural assets, including an over 100-year-old observation tower atop the highest peak of the Opawskie Mountains – Biskupia Kopa (890 m above sea level). At the summit, at an altitude of 850 meters

above sea level, you'll find the only PTTK mountain shelter in the Opawskie Mountains,

„Pod Kopą Biskupią”. The entire park is covered by a dense network of hiking trails totaling

128 km, over 30 km of nature and educational trails and numerous trails for hiking, cycling, horseback riding and cross-country skiing.
