800TH ANNIVERSARY PARK IN OPOLE

The 800th Anniversary Park is a new municipal park in Opole, located on Bolko Island, not far from the zoo. This 10-hectare area between the Oder River and the Ulga Canal now features walking and cycling paths, a modern playground, and a family and recreation area. Everything is surrounded by greenery: trees, shrubs and flowers that look wonderful, especially in spring. As the park is well lit, you can enjoy spending time there even after dark, surrounded by greenery and away from the traffic.

About three thousand trees and several thousand shrubs have been planted in the park. The site is complemented and decorated by a huge flower meadow – a paradise for bees, bumblebees and other pollinating insects. The central part of the park features the "Skwer Opolan" (Opole Citizens' Square), which commemorates the most distinguished residents of the city.

In addition to walking paths, there are also routes for cyclists and rollerbladers, who are plentiful in this area. Children have not been forgotten either, with one of the largest playgrounds in Opole built there for them. The local playground looks fantastic! Due to the proximity of the Zoo, the playing equipment's shapes are reminiscent of colourful animals. It features a giraffe-shaped slide, a sand playground, as well as various types of spider webs, trampolines and obstacle courses.
