ŁUBNIANY

Łubniany are located 14 km northeast of Opole, in the area of the Stobrawa-Turawa Forests, near the Stobrawa Landscape Park. The first mentions of the village appear in a 1260 document issued by virtue of the decision of the Duke of Opole Vladislaus, son of Casimir of Opole. However, its history begins much earlier. During archaeological works in the mid-20th century, tombs with urns which are dated to 200 BC were found here. Today, the village is the seat of the Łubniany municipality. Here, you can see the characteristic of the region village layout, of the linear settlement type, historic granaries, as well as the 19th-century Church of St. Peter and St. Paul the Apostles which towers above the area . An unquestionable asset of the Łubniany municipality is its nature.

Half of its area is made up of forests, most of which are in the Stobrawa Landscape Park. Nearby, it is also worth seeing the sand dunes situated in the middle of a forest. The Łubniany area is full of hiking and biking paths, so you can plan many different excursions here and keep discovering new places. Four rivers also flow through the municipality: the Brynica, Swornica, Jemielnica, and Mała Panew Rivers. Canoeing is organised on the latter, and four canoeing stations are located in the Łubniany municipality - three in Kolanowice and one in Luboszyce by a weir.
