THE "THREE TOWERS" CITY TRAIL IN BIAŁA
An unusual tourist attraction for the Opolskie Voivodship, the trail consists of three historic observation towers, distinguished by their age, architecture and the way in which the viewing points are made accessible.
Each tower is different – be sure to climb them all! Over the years, the towers have completely changed their purpose: their function has changed from utilitarian, as in the past centuries, to tourist attractions. Rozmieszczenie wież w mieście w
odległości ok. 15 minut spacerem od siebie czyni z nich kompleksowy obiekt do zwiedzania.
We encourage you to take a walk along the trail and reach:
Prudnicka Tower (at ul. Prudnicka 6). The tallest of the three, the Prudnicka Tower dates back to medieval times and is a remnant of the town's defensive walls. It is also a former prison and ammunition store. The top floor offers a view from the roof windows.
Wieża Wodna (Water Tower; at ul. Wodna 3). This Renaissance tower supplied water to the castle in Biała; the cellar and viewing point on the tower roof are also accessible.
Wieża Ciśnień (Water Tower; at ul. Wodociągowa). It is a section of a water main from the early 20th century. The industrial interior leads to a former reservoir, whose walls have been partially exposed to provide view from the existing windows.
