DOCUMENTATION AND EXHIBITION CENTER OF GERMANS IN POLAND
The Documentation and Exhibition Center of Germans in Poland is a branch of the Emanuel Smołka Voivodship Public Library in Opole.
Located in the heart of the city, the institution presents a modern narrative exhibition which offers the visitors an immersive journey through time, from the Middle Ages to the present day. The exhibition combines multimedia with authentic elements, replicas and reproductions. It is enriched with unique accounts from contemporary witnesses. The exhibition, attractive to both children and adults, is also adapted to the needs of people with limited mobility.
The content presented is prepared in bilingual version – in Polish and German.
In addition to the permanent exhibition, the Center also organizes temporary exhibitions and events dedicated to the history, personalities, art or literature of national and ethnic minorities in Poland and Europe. Furthermore, the institution serves as a historical and cultural center, a place of extracurricular education and a meeting place.
