NYSA COMMUNITY CENTRE
The Nysa Community Center is one of the oldest cultural institutions in Nysa, operating since 1972. The auditorium has approximately 450 seats. Thousands of people participate in cultural activities, festivals, concerts, exhibitions and film screenings each year.
Passions and interests can be developed through various activities; currently, approximately 200 people participate in the activities run by the Nysa Community Center. The Community Center is a place that fosters the development of amateur movements and the discovery of new talents. Activities include the Gaudeamus Choir, the Harmonia w Chaosie dance group, the Nyskie Studio Piosenki (vocal-instrumental group), Stokrotki 50+ (dance group), a chess group, the Nashita Belly Dance oriental dance group, a Latin dance group and the Nysa Song and Dance Ensemble. We also offer theater and music classes.
Currently, the theatre section is thriving and continuing theatrical traditions. This location was formerly the building of the Municipal Theatre in Nysa, which opened on October 14, 1852.
The Foyer Gallery also operates, hosting exhibitions by local artists and others. The Nysa Cummunity Center manages two fortified structures – the St. Jadwiga
Bastion and Water Fort. In the Bastion, the NDK operates a Tourist Information Point, a small "SOWA" learning center and the Nysa Independence Education Center.
