CAROLINUM IN NYSA

The Carolinum in Nysa was originally intended to be a university, but the untimely death of its founder, Bishop Charles Habsburg, prevented the signing of the relevant documents. This Jesuit complex educated illustrious figures, such as Michał Korybut Wiśniowiecki or Jakub Sobieski. The magnificent Baroque building was partially destroyed during the French siege in 1807.

The Jesuit college was one of the most important universities in Silesia. It continues to serve educational purposes to this day.
