NOVOKUŹNICKI POND NATURE RESERVE

Nowokuźnicki Pond is a nature reserve located in the Prószków district, in the village of Nowa Kuźnia, within the "Bory Niemodlińskie" Protected Landscape Area. The protected reserve covers an area of ​​28.91 hectares. Numerous bird species can be found here, including rare ones like the black stork and the common hobby. Even greater number of protected plants can be found here (over 320 species and 30 different plant communities). Among the most interesting and rare flora of Nowokuźnicki Pond are the water caltrop and the floating fern, the only species of water fern found in Poland.

The pond has been beautifully adapted for visitors. Along its eastern shore runs a several-hundred-meter-long wooden walking platform, picturesquely nestled among the trees and shrubs. Several rest areas with benches are located near the platform. The most beautiful of are located on platforms overlooking the water. This is a perfect spot for a longer stop and a family picnic. At the end of the walking platform, there is an observation tower juts out above the treetops, overlooking the picturesquely overgrown pond. It's also the best place to admire the birds nesting on the pond, including mallards, swans, lesser spotted eagles, ospreys and woodpeckers. Beavers and otters are also found here.
