STARE SIOŁKOWICE

Stare Siołkowice is located in the Popielów district, approximately 20 km northwest of Opole. The first mention of Stare Siołkowice can be found in a document concerning the landed estates of the Czarnowąsy monastery from 1223. Over the centuries, Stare Siołkowice, like many other villages, has been ravaged by numerous fires, which often caused extensive damage and required frequent reconstruction. Today, Stare Siołkowice, thanks to its location amidst forests, rivers and ponds, is a true delight for nature enthusiasts. Worth seeing in Stare Siołkowice are, among other attractions, the historic Church of St. Michael the Archangel, likely designed by the eminent German architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel, which is located on the KF Schinkel Opole Architectural Trail. While in the area, you can't miss the iconic "Śtantin" Restaurant, originally a tavern, family-run for generations, located in a building built between 1830 and 1860. The restaurant refers to family traditions, the rich history of the region and serves up a variety of regional delicacies. The flavors of the dishes prepared here attract many locals and tourists alike. The "Śtantin" Restaurant is listed on the Opole Bifyj Culinary Trail.
