KOZIELSKIE KOZIOŁKI IN KĘDZIERZYN-KOŹLE

The charming bronze goats of Kozielsko are a new and interesting idea for promoting the town, referring to the coat of arms and name of Kędzierzyn-Koźle. The first goats, designed by city resident Michał Misiaszek, were placed in the renovated market square in October 2019. Ultimately, each neighborhood in Kędzierzyn-Koźle will have its own personalized figurine, referring to its character, such as the goat with a volleyball located at the Azoty Hall, which is also a gift and a thank you to the Polish volleyball champions from ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, who, thanks to their achievements, have made the city famous on the national and world stages.

Goats became the symbol of Kędzierzyn-Koźle, featured in its coat of arms, after the town was established in 1975. It was created from four localities: Kędzierzyn, Koźle, Sławięcice and Kłodnica. Previously, each of them had its own coat of arms. The current one is the 14th-century emblem of Koźle, depicting three black goat heads with golden horns on a silver background. The coat of arms refers to the legendary three Kozłow brothers, who are said to have resided here in the 12th century in a fortified castle. It is also a reference to

the story of Lech, Czech and Rus, known from medieval legends.
